Hazard PerceptionThis Theory Test Task consists of a series of 14 video clips which contain one or more potential hazards that you must identify by clicking the computer mouse.
For example: You may identify the need to change speed; or position on the road; or recognise any potential dangers.
The reason for Hazard Perception tasks is to raise your awareness and help you gain confidence in dealing with everyday events on the road, as you learn to drive.
Students should be constantly looking for clues in the clips and using m.s.m routines to help identify potential hazards. Students MUST respond to situations in the clip. (Scan the road and pavements as if you were the driver in the clip)
Remember – Planning ahead and prioritising is most important.
The pass mark is 44 out of 75.
You gain between 1-5 points on each hazard which depends on your reaction and how quick you see the hazard and ‘CLICK’ the mouse.
